Ponds and lakes face significant challenges in sustaining a healthy ecosystem. In particular, lakes and ponds manmade or located near farmland or urban areas where there is substantial nutrient/pollution runoff and human impact are likely to, at some point or another, have algae growth.

Lakes, Rivers, Streams, Swimming Pools, Cooling Tower, Shower rooms, and Industrial water systems are frequently polluted by the excessive growth of algae and other micro-organisms which impart a distasteful appearance to the water, generally interfere with the flow of the water and may be harmful to health.

ALG-OXYPRO WORKING PRINCIPLE

ALG-OXYPRO proposes an alternative that can reduce plant and algae growth in many ponds. It kills algae by binding to it, which damages the algae cells, causing them to leak and die. If you simply spray it into a body of water it will go to the bottom.

ALG-OXYPRO is a tool in freshwater farm ponds and aquaculture operations. It is both an effective algicide and a parasite treatment. ALG-OXYPRO is very effective in killing the floating mats of algae. ALG-OXYPRO can be used to control algae in ponds, including filamentous and higher algae such as Chara ("Stink weed"). ALG-OXYPRO to reduce the abundance of algae that cause off-flavor in catfish, Nuisance Aquatic Vegetation like Filamentous Algae, Kara Kara and Aquatic Weeds in Pond / Lake / Cooling Tower/ Swimming Pool Water / Aquaculture and Fish Farming water. ALG-OXYPRO accelerates the both molting and reproduction (promolt stage: Female – 50%, Males – 40%)

ALG-OXYPRO algaecide which has an excellent killing power with regard to algae and other micro-organisms, and is less toxic to fish and zooplankton than ordinary algaecides. The liquid variety only treats the first 1 to 3 feet of water, so is best suited to treating floating surface algae. Uniform spraying of a water solution of ALG-OXYPRO will guarantee that the ALG-OXYPRO spreads evenly across the pond.

ALG-OXYPRO is best applied by using a broadcast sprayer. Within about 48 hours after application, the algae should be brown and dead or dying. You’ll need to remove the algae either manually or with a vacuum to prevent oxygen depletion. ALG-OXYPRO algaecides reduce the frequency of treatments because they are effective for up to 4 - 6 weeks after application

ALG-OXYPRO for Cooling Tower, the concentration considered acceptable for phytoplankton control ranges 0.20 to 1.5 ml of ALG-OXYPRO per liter of water. The maximum recommended concentration of ALG-OXYPRO for fish is usually 0.02 ml per liter in acidic, low-alkalinity water and 0.2 ml per liter in water with high alkalinity and pH.

PRECAUTIONS

In a pond with algae, ALG-OXYPRO treatments can cause oxygen concentrations to drop, which may result in fish kills. Pond algae are a major source of oxygen production and by removing it this source of oxygen is also removed. In addition, oxygen will be consumed as the algae decompose. If you are treating to kill algae, either treat in a series of smaller doses over time or have an alternate way to create oxygen in the pond water, such as a pond aerating device. Measure the pond water's alkalinity prior to using a ALG-OXYPRO If the total alkalinity is under 50 ppm, then do not apply ALG-OXYPRO to control algae because the risk of killing fish is extremely high. If the total alkalinity Is more than 250 ppm, then use ALG-OXYPRO.
